As of the most recent information available, there are no fully electric or hybrid versions of the Rolls-Royce Ghost in production. However, Rolls-Royce has been actively working on incorporating electric powertrains into its lineup, with a focus on the future of luxury electric vehicles.

1. Current Rolls-Royce Ghost

  • The 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost is powered by a traditional 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine. This engine provides an ultra-smooth, high-performance driving experience that is characteristic of Rolls-Royce's legendary refinement and power.
  • While the Ghost offers a range of cutting-edge technologies (such as advanced suspension systems, noise isolation, and more), it still relies on internal combustion for its performance.

2. Rolls-Royce's Future Electric Vehicle: Spectre

  • Rolls-Royce has already announced plans to shift towards electric mobility, and the first step in this transition is the Rolls-Royce Spectre, an all-electric coupe.
  • Spectre: The Rolls-Royce Spectre, which was unveiled in 2021 and is slated for production starting in 2023-2024, marks Rolls-Royce's entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market. The Spectre will be a fully electric model that combines Rolls-Royce's signature luxury and craftsmanship with cutting-edge electric technology.
    • The Spectre will be built on the same Architecture of Luxury platform that underpins the Phantom and Cullinan, but with a fully electric powertrain.
    • Rolls-Royce has announced that the Spectre will have an estimated range of around 320 miles per charge, which is competitive for a luxury EV.

3. Hybrid Powertrains for Rolls-Royce

  • While there are currently no hybrid versions of the Ghost, Rolls-Royce has made it clear that it plans to integrate hybrid powertrains in the future as part of its sustainable luxury strategy.
  • However, Rolls-Royce is focusing more on developing its all-electric capabilities (as seen with the Spectre) rather than introducing hybrid models, as the company believes that fully electric vehicles align better with its long-term vision for luxury and performance.

4. Rolls-Royce's Commitment to Electric Vehicles

  • Rolls-Royce has committed to becoming a fully electric brand by 2030. This means that all of the brand's future models, including potential successors to the Ghost, will likely be fully electric.
  • The development of the Spectre is the first major step in Rolls-Royce's transition toward this all-electric future. It signals that the company is prioritizing high-performance electric powertrains while maintaining its legendary standards for luxury, comfort, and bespoke craftsmanship.

Conclusion:

As of now, the Rolls-Royce Ghost does not have a hybrid or electric variant. However, Rolls-Royce is actively transitioning to an electric future, with the Spectre being the first fully electric model in the company's lineup. The Ghost and other future Rolls-Royce models may follow suit with fully electric versions as the brand works towards its goal of becoming entirely electric by 2030.
